Join us for the 60th Annual Jackass Mail Run!
The Jackass Mail Run is a famous local event where fearless riders deliver mail along a 17 mile trek from downtown Porterville to beautiful Springville located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. Led by the brave Wagon Master, several buggies and dozens of Stallions and Mares make their journey upwards into the hills along the State Highway 190. Their famous journey attracts many dangers too, often being held up in Springville by Outlaws seeking to steal to mail. These standoffs lead to a Big Shootout, and so far the Wagon Master and his Posse have prevailed and got the Mail safely to its destination. The Outlaws are captured and turned into the Springville Jail and the mail is delivered to the Springville Post Master.
At the end of the journey the riders gather to celebrate their successful journey with the townspeople in downtown Springville Park. There will be live music, historical reenactments, and business booths. Festivities in Springville officially begin at noon, which is about the time riders typically arrive.
If you would like to send a letter to be carried by the Stallion's at this event, you can purchase special postages available at the Springville Post Office, local businesses, and Porterville Chamber of Commerce. The official mail deposit box is located by the Porterville Chamber of Commerce.
